Well, Eliana experienced her first Christmas by sleeping in with mommy. We made it to the castle and hung out with the aunties and grandparents. Had some good food and played some games. It’s been quite a busy week, going to church for Christmas eve events and visiting family and friends all over.
Started playing starcraft during Thanksgiving party. There’s going to be a follow up competition over Christmas. I needed help, so been studying on-line with some of the masters. Starcraft has a rich history and cult following. Some useful sites for learning about this game:
There’s a wealth of strategies, commentaries, youtube videos out there. It’ll take years for me to get good in this game. Anyways, I see it as a real time chess match. Each character has their strengths and weaknesses. You just have to be fast, and know what their strenghts and weaknesses are. It’s about being part of a team. You just have to know where to put your resources to maximize return. Back to studying…
stayed up past midnight writing christmas cards. we got a stack of costco printed christmas photocards. genius. making a card with your photo on it. truly amazing, real genius.
anyways, it was good reflecting on this past year and seeing how everyone played such a big part in our lives especially when eliana was born. the year goes by too fast and we don’t get too many chances to say thank you or that we love you. so thank you and we love you.
and thank you costco for developing christmas photo-cards. that’s real genius.
so far i like the 30s, at least much better than my teens or 20s. life just seems to be getting better and better. i wonder if my 30th birthday will be somewhat symbolic of the rest of my 30s, warm and low-key… i think i could deal with that. ( =
baby report- now baby seems to recognize 3 words. at 9 months she can’t really speak any, but she does know “water”, “milk”, and “cheerios” – all in Chinese of course.
Gaoxiang visited this weekend. As usual, we ate lots. We went to our favorite local chinese restuaurant, (Sichuan Village) in Chantilly VA. They offer a chinese buffet, but whatever you do, don’t get the buffet. Bring a chinese person with you and order from the “authentic chinese” menu. Here’s the Mastercard commercial highlight of the evening:
Thanks for visiting us. We are a family touched by the grace of Jesus Christ. We hope to share this blessing with all who visit here.
May God richly bless you!
