It was an interesting day since E1 and MommyG were getting over a stomach bug. E1 celebrated her 3rd b-day and to surprise us was E2 taking her first steps. We were watching and waiting with the camera and got this video during the commercial break of American Idol…

E1 had a fun time playing with her 4th auntie… It was reading time at the local library and then the McDonald’s play area.
This is us having some more fun in the snow… the first time down was kinda fun… the second one we wiped out… oh well. At least we were able to get back up. I’m not sure what the plastic sheet sleds are called, but they are really durable and has incredible low friction properties… perfect for sledding.

So apparently E1 knows who Obama is. Or at least we thought she did until recently. I think it was when my mother-in-law was staying with us and we had the neat tv antenna to watch the latest news. Everytime she saw the president she would yell out “ooh, Obama.” We just naturally assumed she had this pattern recognition thing down… until recently.
Even during drives down the street she would cry out “Obama” but of course there was no president nearby. We were baffled until we interrogated her thoroughly… where is obama? She would point in some random direction… and after a few times like this we kinda figured that she associated the U.S. flag with Obama. I guess all those times that Obama was on television he was next to an American flag.
Amazing how the brain works… especially the brain of a child…
