Thought this was an intersting article by matthew Parris in The Times.
This was his rather insightful conclusion:
Those who want Africa to walk tall amid 21st-century global competition must not kid themselves that providing the material means or even the knowhow that accompanies what we call development will make the change. A whole belief system must first be supplanted.
And I’m afraid it has to be supplanted by another. Removing Christian evangelism from the African equation may leave the continent at the mercy of a malign fusion of Nike, the witch doctor, the mobile phone and the machete.

This week was packed especially with house guests and guest visits from thduggie, joofly and BK spread throughout the week. Had a good time catching up on old times. Life, church, family, etc.
Continued reading through the Outline of Paul’s Theology by Herman Ridderbos. Learning about new life in Christ, obediance, ethics, and what it means to live in the reality of the resurrection and the expectation of the return of Christ.

The past class I took was on biblical theology which focused on redemptive history and interpreting the bible from a temporal perspective. It looked at the present in relation to Christ’s death and resurrection and Pentecost and also in relation to the return of Christ, but also realizing the reality of our resurrected state in our union with Christ… It was quite good… but a bit too much for my limited understanding. Still reviewing my notes.
We had church on Sunday and a reunion with some old friends we met a while back. A couple that led mission teams to various latin american countries. They’re hoping to reach out to the predominately latino community where our church is situated. I’m excited for that.
This week ended with the super bowl… details in previous post…
